Important visa information
- The documents can be submitted in person (by prior arrangement only) or in some cases by a third party (by prior arrangement only) or by post.
- An applicant may be invited to the Consular Section in person to conduct an individual interview in order to discuss the details of the submitted paperwork and the planning trip to Russia. Failure to turn up for the interview will cause a visa denial.
- The Consular officer may request any additional documents or information. Failure to present it will cause a visa denial.
- In accordance with the Russian law citizens of the Russian Federation regardless of any other citizenship they may have, must travel to Russia on their valid Russian documents only.
- When applying by post stamped self-addressed envelope should be attached to the documents. Incomplete applications will be returned unprocessed. Passports/documents will be returned by post only. No information will be given by phone or e-mail on visa application status. Please note that when applying by post processing time may be longer than it is stated.
- The Consular Section assumes no responsibility for any delay or loss of the mail, or while the documents are in the custody of the courier service or delivery agent.
- Applicant’s further travel plans or personal circumstances can’t affect the duration of visa issuing process.
- You cannot have two valid Russian visas at the same time even in two different passports. If you want to apply for a new visa mind that your current visa must be cancelled.
- Passports can be collected either in person upon presenting the original receipt or by a third party upon presenting the original receipt along with letter of authorization (by prior arrangement only).
- Visas cannot be swapped or extended. If your travel plans have been changed after the visa issuing you have to re-apply for a visa anew.
- Visa processing commences only after all necessary and proper documents have been presented by an applicant and accepted by a consular officer. Presenting incomplete set of documents leads to denial of its reviewing and the documents will be returned to an applicant unprocessed.
- Visa fee cannot be refunded under no circumstances.
- «3 working days processing» is available when the Consular Section is not overloaded with applications. The faster processing is available at the Consular officer’s discretion only.
- In certain cases the Consular Section is entitled to consider visa applications as long as it is necessary.
- You must check the information printed in your visa properly (passport number, date of birth, dates of entry and departure, surname and name etc.) upon collection of your passport in order the Consular Section could make necessary well-timed corrections.
- If you want your passport to be returned to you by post please attach registered self-addressed envelope to the documents.
- It is strongly recommended not to book or purchase flight tickets until the Consular Section has issued your visa (except a transit one).
- The Consular Section is not responsible for providing parking area for applicants.
